Police arrested a cane-wielding bandit who they say robbed and beat a man on DeKalb Avenue on May 31.

The 30-year-old victim told cops he was at Brooklyn Hospital near Ashland Place at 6:20 pm when a man approached him and asked for a cigarette. After the victim pulled out his wallet by accident, the bandit snatched it away, beat him with a cane, and took $40 from the wallet.

The victim stayed at the hospital with minor injuries. Cops arrested a suspect at the hospital.
