Hundreds of community leaders, elected officials, clergy and community members will gather at 5 p.m., May 4 for the Annual Holocaust Commemoration Program at the Kings Bay YM-YWHA, 3495 Nostrand Avenue.

The Jewish Community Council of Kings Bay and the Kings Bay YM-YWHA will hold the event as a way to honor the memory of six million Jews who perished in the Holocaust and express the commitment to implementing the concept of “Never Again.”

The program will include a candle-lighting ceremony, a children’s choir from Madison Jewish Center, and guest speaker Rabbi Myron Rakowitz of the Sephardic Jewish Center in Canarsie.

A number of elected officials and community leaders are scheduled to attend the event. Kings Bay Y teens will also show their respect to Holocaust survivors by participating in a series of events, with the Holocaust Commemoration Program as the culmination.

They will light candles and participate in the various activities of the evening.
