The Canarsie Jewish Community’s Annual Holocaust Memorial will be held at 8 p.m., May 6 at the Congregation AAA Sfard of Canarsie, 1385 East 94th Street and Avenue L.
The guest speakers will be Ruth and Jack Gruner. Jack survived 10 concentration camps while Ruth was a hidden child and published “Destined to Live.”
The children of Yeshiva Ateres Yisroel will offer songs of commemoration, and a delegation from the Yeshiva R’Tzhad will recite appropriate poetry.
There will be a candle lighting ceremony in memory of the six million Jews who perished during the Holocaust, along with the traditional mourner’s prayer.
The public is invited; there is no entrance fee.
