Today’s news:

It’s time to ‘play ball!’ in Red Hook

Red Hook Stadium morphed into a “field of dreams” for budding A-Rods, who took to the green to launch the Little League season of the national pastime.

Young athletes from the Red Hook Community Justice Center Baseball League celebrated opening day with a morning of play at the local sports grounds, Lorraine and Hicks streets.

Rites and festivities included presentations, a ceremonial ball toss and a benediction by Rev. Vasser Anderson.
