Greenpoint goes green for Earth Day

The verdant lady received a green thumbs up from mom, dad and the kids during an Earth Day celebration at McCarren Park.

Visitors joined like-minded eco-buffs for a day of fun with a focus at the sprawling green on Lorimer Street, bound by Bedford and Driggs avenues, hosted by the grassroots group, Town Square.

Strolling performers and student showcases vied for attention with service organizations, while environmental education, family activities and live entertainment lured the hordes on a day designed to promote awareness about the planet and how to maintain its natural resources
