A thunderous outpouring of love and camaraderie greeted Inspector Tom Harris as he descended the steps of the 70th Precinct as a commanding officer for the last time.
“It’s been a great 23 years. I never thought I would be standing here leaving today like I am, but opportunities have come up and I decided to take advantage of it,” said Harris to the throng of police brass and men in blue as well as civilians who had come to bid him farewell.
