Today’s news:

Hard work and studying pays off for top students at Public School 255

The close of the month has brought with it the newest batch of Brooklyn’s best and brightest as Public School 255 named their “Student of the Month” honorees.

Each month, those students who demonstrate hard work, excellent attendance and kindness toward others are given an honorary sash to wear throughout the day and a fresh set of pencils to keep up the good work.

“It is a real honor to be chosen,” said Principal Linda L. Singer. “They live up to the goals and objectives of the school.”

Project Arts Liaison Miriam Rankin initiated the prestigious recognition as a way to encourage all the burgeoning achievers in grades K through five at PS 255, 1866 East 17th Street and Avenue R.

“We aim for the stars and our Students of the Month shine upon all of us,” said Singer. “These students are proud of themselves and we are even prouder of all their accomplishments.”
