Salute to veterans

The Brooklyn Paper

Kickstart your choppers and come on down to the Ninth Annual Veterans’ Recognition Day in the Park, June 29 from 12-7 p.m., at the Asser Levy Seaside Park bandshell, Surf Avenue & West Fifth Street.

The event, sponsored by Rolling Thunder, Inc., Chapter 1, NY, will go ahead rain or shine, and admission is free, but donations are gratefully accepted.

Live entertainment will be provided by Frankie C Productions, featuring the sounds of rhythm & blues, rock, oldies and street corner faves.

Scheduled performers include Barbara Harris & the Toys; Creative Energy, Joey and the Paradons, Vito Balsamo, Barry Fetterman, the Cavaliers, the Cascades, Angel Rissoff, and the Manhattan Skyline featuring Jimmy Russo.

What better way to thank our Veterans for the freedoms we have than to celebrate with a relaxing afternoon of great music, dancing, good food, cold beverages, ice cream, games, raffles, prizes and more.
