HEAT is super cool for Brooklyn - Borough Hall celebrates a job well done during the summer of 2008

Brooklyn Borough President Marty Markowitz celebrated the completion of a job well done when he welcomed Summer HEAT (Help Employ Ambitious Teens) participants and employers to Borough Hall. Summer HEAT is the Borough President’s summer youth employment program, which encourages Brooklyn businesses to invest in young people through employment.

This event was an opportunity to say thank you to Summer HEAT partners and congratulations to the students who have started on the path to becoming successful adults in the workforce.

Participating employers include: Actors Fund, ARAMARK-Ellis Island, Bay Ridge Federal Credit Union, Bedford-Stuyvesant YMCA, Brooklyn Borough Hall, Brooklyn Arts Exchange, Brooklyn Botanic Garden, Brooklyn Bureau of Community Services, Brooklyn Historical Society, Brooklyn Legal Services, Brooklyn Navy Yard, Child Development Support Corp., Concord Baptist Church, Connecticut Muffin, CRCEC, Echo Drugs, Evidence, Inc., Fairway, Flatbush YMCA, Greenpoint Gazette, Green-Wood Cemetery, Groundswell Community Mural Project, Housing Works, IKEA, Judith Angel Interior Design, Kings County Hospital Center, Levin and Blit, Maimonides Medical Center, New Dimensions in Care, New York Aquarium, New York Congregational Nursing, Preferred Health Partners, Prospect Park Alliance, Prospect Park YMCA, St. Rosalia Regina-Pacis Neighbor-hood Improvement Association, SUNY Downstate Medical Center, Target, The Heart of Brooklyn/BCAP, Town Square, Waste Management and Woodhull Hospital.
