Today’s news:

The true spirit of Kearney H.S.

Over the spring, the faculty of Bishop Kearney High School was asked to nominate students who embodied the Kearney spirit…in a different way.

The nominees might not always be academically superior or might not be able to participate in extra-curricular activities. However, their presence at Kearney made a difference in the lives of other students and teachers. Kearney’s deans presented these girls with a special Kearney Spirit Award certificate at the end-of-the-year assembly.

Pictured after the assembly are freshmen Kristen Casano and Mikela Ragin; sophomores Jennifer D’ Alessio, Amanda Diaz, Tiffany Irrera, Christina Magriples, Collette Manning, Jessica Mazile, Lisa Reichner, Kim and Lisa Rittenhouse and Colleen Shea; juniors Ruqayyah Batts, Annalisa Castaldo, Jenifer Spadaro, Vanessa Wong and Samantha Zito.

Bishop Kearney High School is located at 2202 60th Street.
