Illuminating the way… Pedestrians can now travel with more safety – thanks to a new traffic light at a busy intersection in Canarsie.

Area officials joined grassroots leaders and local pre-K and Head Start students from the Yeled V’Yalda Early Childhood Center, and their parents, to install the new signal at Farragut Road and East 78th Street, approved by the Department of Transportation through the joint efforts of Assemblymember Helene Weinstein, Councilmember Lew Fidler and Gardy Brazela, president of Friends United Block Association (FUBA).
