Eleven members of Community Board 17 went “back to school,” so to speak, receiving perfect attendance awards from Borough President Marty Markowitz.

Sophia Jones, Markowitz’s representative, presented the certificates during CB 17’s September meeting, which was held at the First United Church of Jesus Christ, 590 Utica Avenue.

The awardees were Douglas Allen, Barrington Barrett, Mary Bell-Downes, Dunstan Bowen, Morgan Gabriel, Adlin Gallimore, Josefina Johnson, Terrence LaPierre, Lillie Mabry, board Chairperson Lloyd Mills and June Persaud.

Ann Marie Adamson, the borough president’s former representative to the board, was also on hand to congratulate the board members who had attended every meeting last year.
