Borough honors palliative care

Brooklyn Borough Hall was illuminated in purple to honor National Hospice and Palliative Care Month, the color chosen because of its association with nobility, spirituality and self-esteem. Hospice gives end-of-life patient dignity, care and caring. It was Brooklyn’s own Metropolitan Jewish Health System which initiated the idea, brought to fruition by Borough President Marty Markowitz.
