Broadway rocker inspires Junior HS students

Broadway−bound students at Marine Park Junior High School received tips from the top when headlining actor, rock star and writer Constantine Maroulis stopped by to help them with a musical theater project.

The shaggy−haired lead vocalist for the hard rock band “Pray for the Soul of Betty” and Tony Award−nominee for his role in Rock of Ages, tweaked, boosted and perfected techniques with youngsters, who will perform at Inside Broadway Gala’s Broadway Beacon Awards where Maroulis, a former American Idol contestant, will be honored for his support of education.

Now in its 26th year, Inside Broaway introduces musical theater to public school students through Cultural After−School Adventures and other programs aimed at developing creativity in youngsters.
