$1M is a lot of ‘scratch’

New York State Lottery’s instant scratch−off game garnered the Yemen−born businessman a quick, cool million dollars after he bought his winning ticket at the GFS Mini−Mart he owns and operates on Avenue Z.

The father of four – pictured here with family and lottery representative Gretchen Dizer – will receive his jackpot prize in 20 annual payments of $50,000, leaving him with a net total of $31,191 after Uncle Sam pockets his share.
