Today’s news:

Emergency landing for chopper

Green landing pad...

An NYPD helicopter turned Prospect Park’s Long Meadow into a landing strip to make some much-needed repairs Tuesday morning.

Officials said that the helicopter made an emergency grass landing at about 1:30 a.m. following a small “mechanical issue.”

Everyone landed safe and sound, according to police.

After making the repairs, the helicopter ascended once again at 8:40 am, headed to the Floyd Bennett Field aviation base, witnesses said.
