Today’s news:

Spider-Opossum attacks Brighton Beach

What do you get when a radioactive spider bites a opossum?

You get a spider-opossum -- much like the one seen scaling a wall in Brighton Beach Wednesday.

Residents of the Brighton 5th Street building near Brighton Beach Avenue were stunned at the sight -- a opossum clinging for dear life along the side of a the brick-faced wall 15 feet off the ground Wednesday afternoon.

But, even though the meandering marsupial managed to get up the wall, he didn’t quite know how to get down, said witnesses, who contacted 911 for a rodent rescue team.

Members of NYPD Emergency Services Unit Truck 6 were dispatched, but it was already too late, the opossum managed to sink his nails into a window frame and slide down to safety.

Cops ultimately apprehended the opossum after it was found hiding out in a hole next to the building and re-located to friendlier environs, officials said.
