A 42-year-old construction worker was killed after he fell off a scaffolding hitched to a 12th Street building.
Police were told that Henyrk Siebor and two others were resurfacing the brickwork of the apartment building, located between Seventh and Eighth Avenues, at 5:35 p.m. on August 18 when he tried to move from one scaffold to another.
The scaffold tipped and Siebor fell five stories to his death, horrified witnesses said.
His two coworkers were left hanging off the up-ended scaffold until emergency personnel could rescue them.
While three scaffolds were in use, all three men were working on just one of them when the accident took place.
Both the NYPD and the Department of Buildings were still investigating as this paper went to press.
