WWW.NAUPA.ORG - that’s the Internet address that may make you a few bucks richer. I’ve written about it several times and received some nice thank you notes from readers who were able to recover some of their own money that went astray. Early this year I sat at my computer with my friend Paul looking for money for him. We found nothing due him but we did find his sister on the list. Yesterday Paul told me that the amount his sister received was %u2026.drum roll please %u2026 TWENTY THOUSAND DOLLARS.In the past I found hundreds due people%u2026 even thousands %u2026I also found the sum of fifteen thousand dollars for my roommate. Now %u2013 Paul’s sister, with the finding of twenty grand, is high hook. Isn’t it nice to be so rich that you can misplace that much money and not miss it?
When was the last time you actually had to show your luggage receipts after you picked up your bags at the carousel? I was shocked when I was prevented from leaving the baggage area at the airport in Houston. Can you imagine %u2013 there are employees there that are actually doing their job?
I shop at 3 different Costco’s. It doesn’t matter when, what day, or what time I shop there’s always a long line to check out. Why don’t they open more registers? That question was posed to Richard Galanti, CFO of Costco, who attempted to double talk his way out of the truth. He responded with Costco’s company-wide check-out policy of “no more than one in line and two behind.”
When he was informed that his managers all over the country are not complying with this policy he admitted, “There’s nothing worse than having half the twenty registers open. Shame on us.”
This interview took place several weeks ago. I just returned from Costco and his managers are still not complying with his so-called policy. Try to say something and you’ll be greeted with some of the nastiest employees on the planet.
Hey there, Costco. Shame, Shame, Shame on you!
I didn’t get to see Michael Moore’s flick, ‘Capitalism: A Love Story’ yet but I do know that he moans and rips it apart. While complaining that “Capitalism did nothing for me”, Mr. M is raking in the big bucks and really enjoying the rewards of this economic system.Do you think the word “hypocrite” has some meaning here?
Philip Garrido is the bucket of crap that kidnapped eleven year old Jaycee Dugard eighteen years ago. This convicted sex offender held the child as a slave in a backyard tent where he raped her and fathered two children. I’m supposed to say “allegedly” kidnapped and raped. Come on %u2013 let’s get real. This piece of human waste will be found guilty. Ok, gang. I now appoint you the judge. What penalty would you impose on him?
Me? I am StanGershbein@Bellsouth.net saying %u2013 give him one year in prison but ONLY if he serves it with the general population.
