Head: Man clings to life following Coney Island Ave. accident

A young man was clinging to life Sunday after being struck down by a passing minivan on Coney Island Avenue.

Officials said that the 20-year-old victim, who was not named, was crossing Coney Island Avenue near Dorchester Road at 10 p.m. November 8 when the 2003 van slammed into him.

Responding paramedics rushed the injured man to Lutheran Medical Center, where doctors listed him in critical condition.

Police from the 66th Precinct said that the man operating the minivan remained at the scene. No criminal charges had bee filed against him as this paper went to press.
