Lack of control

An area woman took herself to the hospital last week after a male acquaintance allegedly attacked her with a remote control, police said.

Police were told that the woman was inside an apartment on Broadway between Hooper and Hewes streets at 9 p.m. December 11 when 24-year-old Jevon Charles allegedly struck her in the head with the remote, leaving her with a deep cut.

After being treated at the hospital, the victim called police, who arrested Charles on assault, menacing and criminal possession of a weapon charges.
