Not so fair

Someone stole a man’s wallet from the counter at Fairway on May 8.

The 31-year-old victim said he was about to pay for his groceries at the Van Brunt Street store at 6:30 pm when he placed his wallet on the counter, and walked away for a moment. In that brief moment, a thief snatched the wallet, which contained $20, a credit card and a driver’s license.

Bike bandit

A pedal-pushing punk robbed a woman on Richards Street on May 13.

The 37-year-old victim told cops that she was near Delavan Street at 8:45 pm when the cyclist came up from behind her and snatched her red pocketbook, containing credit cards, a $200 cellphone, and $20.

Bat bozo

A teen clubbed another teen in the head with a baseball bat on Columbia Street on May 9.

The 17-year-old victim said that he was arguing with his attacker near Huntington Street at 5:15 pm, when the young punk suddenly popped him in the head with a bat.

Officer Cedric Brooks nabbed the 16-year-old suspected slugger.

Bike burglar

A man tried to steal three pricey bikes from a Clinton Street home on May 13.

The 38-year-old victim told cops that he heard a the metallic sound of someone fiddling with the bike locks attacked to the gate at his home, located near Kane Street, at around 5 pm, and then saw the intruder leaving with three Trek bicycles in tow.

But the would-be victim tackled the alleged burglar, a 47-year-old career criminal, restraining him until Officer Alberto Iturralde arrived to make the arrest.

Electric co.

Someone stole a bevy of electronics from a car parked on Smith Street on May 9.

The 59-year-old victim said that she parked her 2011 Toyota Highlander near Fourth Place at 11 am, and returned the next day at 10:15 am to find that the rear window was shattered, and a $300 global positioning device, $300 radar detector, $400 iPod Touch, Sony digital camera and a laptop were gone.
