Ovarian cancer is one of the leading causes of death in women in the United States. Fighting the fight and trying to win the battle one step at a time is T.E.A.L. — Tell Every Amazing Lady, The Louisa M. McGregor Ovarian Cancer Foundation. The group was established in 2008 by sisters Louisa M. McGregor and Pamela Esposito-Amery after Louisa was diagnosed with the disease in 2007. Sadly in March of 2011 Louisa lost her four-year battle with the disease but thanks to the determination of her sister and fellow amazing ladies, the commitment Louisa made to help finding a cure and helping others cope with the disease will never be forgotten. This past week the group held T.E.A.L. Walk, one of the city’s largest ovarian cancer walks in Prospect Park. “The turnout was fantastic, absolutely fabulous,” said Pamela. The walk might be over for this year, but there’s always next year. It’s never too late to start planning ahead.
