Today’s news:

It’ll be a so-so weekend on the rails

Brooklyn Daily

The weekend promises to have clear skies and mostly functional trains, so get out there and enjoy yourself! But don’t take the A train, no matter what the Duke says!

All changes are from Saturday, March 10 at 12:01 am to Monday, March 12 at 5 am unless otherwise noted:

A: Manhattan-bound trains run on the F line from Jay Street to W. Fourth Street in Manhattan.

C: Trains will run along the F line from Jay Street to W. Fourth Street from 6:30 am to 11 pm on both Saturday and Sunday.

D: The train will not be running between Atlantic Avenue and 34th Street-Herald Square in Manhattan. Take the N.

F: Coney Island-bound trains run via the A line from W. Fourth Street to Jay Street.

J: Queens-bound trains skip Kociuszko Street, Gates Avenue, Halsey Street, and Chauncey Street stations. Take a Manhattan-bound J from Broadway Junction.

N: Trains run local from 59th Street to Dekalb Avenue in both directions.

R: No trains between 59th Street and 36th Street in Brooklyn from midnight to 6:30 am Saturday and Sunday, midnight to 5 am on Monday. Take the N instead.

The Duke’s “Take the A Train” gets our vote for best NY trainsit-inspired song (even though it was actually composed by long time Ellington-collaborator Billy Straythorn). What’s yours? Write your favorite NY trainsit-inspired song below in our comments section.
