Aaliyah Lewis scored 18 points and dished out seven assists to lead Bishop Ford’s Lady Falcons past the host Lady Kingsmen 60–37.
Brandi Segars had 13 points and 11 rebounds and Aaliyah Jones added 12 points, in a game the Falcon players said was payback for a lopsided defeat handed to them last season by Naz.
“Last year we got smacked here,” Lewis said. “So we all came out and had the same intensity. We were all focused.”
Ford’s defense limited Nazareth star Bianca Cuevas to just 10 points and no field goals. The Falcons also connected on seven 3-pointers in the team’s most complete performance of the season.
“We feel we are one of the best teams in the league,” Ford coach Mike Toro said. “Night in and night out we have to prove it.”Reach reporter Joseph Staszewski at firstname.lastname@example.org. Follow him on twitter @cng_staszewski.
