Gas explosion sends two to hospital in critical

Brooklyn Daily

A residential gas explosion in Marine Park sent two people to the hospital in critical condition early Tuesday morning.

The fireball erupted from the house on Marine Parkway near Quentin Road shortly before 2:25 am, according to the FDNY, and firefighters arrive on the scene within minutes to battle the blaze. It took an hour to bring the fire under control.

Two civilians were rushed to the burn unit at Staten Island University Hospital in critical condition.

The fire department is still investigating the cause of the blaze, but a spokesman said it appeared to have been a propane tank explosion.
