Today’s news:

Cops seek attempted bank robber

Brooklyn Daily

Police are searching for the woman who tried to rob a Bensonhurst bank on Aug. 16.

The suspect barged into the lending institution on the corner of 86th Street and 19th Avenue — just two blocks from the 62nd Precinct station house — at 10:44 am and passed the teller a menacing note, police said.

“Fill envelope with 100s or I will shoot,” her note read. “You have 60 seconds.”

The teller refused, and the bandit got cold feet and fled the building, police said.

Law enforcement officials describe the suspect as a woman in her 50s standing 5-feet-9 and weighing about 160 pounds. She was last seen wearing a purple T-shirt, blue Yankees baseball cap, and dark pants, reports state.

Police are asking anyone with information about the incident to call Crime Stoppers at (800) 577–8477. The public can also submit tips by logging onto the Crime Stoppers website at www.nypdcrimestoppers.com or by texting tips to 274637 then entering TIP577.
